I prefer AMD. But I'll be honest, until Ryzen / Epyc, they were not up to par for performance. Intel has always had the performance edge. Intel also worked with Nvidia drivers, which were more stable than AMD's. I didn't buy Intel-based products because of their anti-competitive monopoly business practices. They pushed AMD nearly into oblivion, for which they paid record fines, which appears outwardly to be what ultimately gave AMD their current performance boost.

I actually have a theory about AMD's recent success, and Intel's apparent inability to deliver on one step of their process technology.

I would buy an AMD laptop without hesitation today. My wife just bought an AMD laptop on my advice, and my son bought an Intel laptop just to be a rebel and to stick it to the old man. LOL
