Needing to run at night, weekends and holidays (on nearly empty machine, was about 10x as fast as during workday H) I bought C64 and connected via 1200/75 Baud - good fit for fast reader with trygpInG oroblems ;-)

FORTRAN I was using on DEC nowhere in sight. Got first contract to create a ledger in MS Multiplan and my first commercial program for a group of cab owners - started in Pascal on 6502, tried Z80 card with Turbo Pascal at a friends machine - then but bought a PC from the ledger cash - one of the first Compaq "portables" and coded in Turbo Pascal for some time. Later added HD, from then on loved personal machines.

I was a diehard mainframer till I saw Lotus 123 and DBASEI run on a PC.
I was hooked.
