Thomas,

what is --The fwk itself-- ??

Koen

>>Hi everybody. I have several developed apps that are about 15 years old. I see that those apps' menus are very outdated, Is there a tool or some way to convert my apps' old fashioned menus into something more modern, say, Office's Ribbon menu?

One of the things Uwe and Rainer implemented last decade was a Ribbon menu and they were quite proud of it - As I dislike that style, never looked at the implementation or if it can be broken out / used separately.

On that thought, last update was last year, they seem to be still working on it, but it suffers with other vfp fwks from a bit of "my way or the highway mentality" doing things not the way devs think is at best like swimming upriver.

single client in nearly 2 dozen years.

>Gut guess is "too expensive ONLY for ribbon", but if you see other things to your liking like adding a few touches to cursoradapter classes and automatic behavior there or their very data driven approach to cbo/picklists, wrapping zip C lib or more goodies a thing reasonable. One thing IMO important to consider: it works WITH vfp (the mindset of "everything is data, even screens") and uses vfps strength whenever possible, not putting oodles of code running between your app and vfp, building on cursoradapter to make backend replaceable and add things without disturbing getting data fast, where vfp still shines.
