Have you checked if there any SET COLOR statements in the code?

In the old days you'd use the SET COLOR foreground and background color to be used for subsequent output statements (such as @ SAY ). Perhaps the effects you're seeing are the result of colors being selected. In particular the greytone you're seeing on printer output is probably the background color of the normal screen display in the application.

Hello Naoto, and thanks for the reply.

I just did a goFish of the entire application and only found two SET COLORs (second one is to restore the original setting). Placed breakpoints and ran the report generator and the code that has the SET COLOR is not in the execution path. (Based on where it was I didn't expect it to be in play... it's part of the Visual FoxExpress framework I am using). Good thought tough!
