The blanket name for the Visual FreePro project (and later Visual FreePro, Jr. project), was the Village Freedom Project, or VFrP for short. It took on that name a couple years after the creation of the Visual FreePro project, but it has been that way ever since.

VFrP was started on July 12, 2012. VJr was started later on June 15, 2014, which will be 2,297 days before Yom Kippur, 3 days away from 2,300.

I just found out that July 12, 2012 plus 3,000 days exactly (? DATE(2012,7,12) + 3000) results in September 28, 2020, which is the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur (also called the Day of Atonement) 2020.

I found that interesting. 3,000 days exactly. That July 12, 2012 day was no accident, either. I remember at the time desiring to do a much different project. I wanted to get with GNU and Richard Stallman and complete their HURD kernel (to replace Linux). It was functional, but had some bugs. I was going to continue development on it and get it ready for prime time. I contacted Stallman to discuss it, and he suggested I work on an Adobe Acrobat clone. I also learned some shocking things about him, and decided I didn't want to be involved with an organization led by such a man. I went into prayer and evaluation about my life, and it was on that day I began the Visual FreePro project, later renamed to Village Freedom Project.

Hard to believe that was almost 3,000 days ago. I'm 8+ years older now than I was when I started. And I can feel it. :-)
