Good day all. Hope everyone is well and staying safe.

I must have rabies or something as I cannot definitely find an explanation of what the NAME clause in the SET PRINTER TO command is actually doing. It does, however, seem to result in Error 1957s (Error Accessing Printer Spooler), which I'm not getting if I drop the NAME clause. Obviously a simple enough solution but I'd like to fully understand the difference between:

SET PRINTER TO NAME \\someServer\somePrinter

and

SET PRINTER TO \\someServer\somePrinter
