In late August 2019, my doctor took me off metformin (oral type 2 diabetes meds).
My A1C at the time was 5.4 (basically the higher end of normal...prediabetes starts at 5.7)
She wanted to see how I'd do with just lifestyle changes and no meds.
Got my blood work done last week, after a year. It's still 5.4. Fasting glucose normal. All other blood work, normal.
Obviously, the metformin was a huge help in the beginning to get my A1c from 10.8 to 6 in just four months. But I knew over the last year I had absolutely nothing to help me. No sugar, kept the carbs down, walk/run every day.....same weight, same numbers, same old KG. (Well, more white in my hair and my beard every month, ha)
