The Chinese were fanatic adversaries.
I hope your relative made it back.

Korea was the last serious "UN" action. Beside Yanks, I met Turks, Canadians, Columbians (South America), Aussies, Kiwis and Brits over there. There were others, but I missed them.
The Turks were some serious dudes. The Chinese ran back when they faced Turks - the Turks took no prisoners.
We were told by our commanders - "Don't mess with a Turk."
When I met a Turk of any rank I saluted and called him "Sir."
I might have told you that I spent time with some Anzacs there. They were tough fighters.
The ones who survived taught us Yanks new levels of profanity, drinking ale and how to play Snooker.
They were out of my league with profanity and ales, but my misspent youth in Queens pool parlors proved a match for the Snooker aces and I enjoyed a few pints at their pleasure.
Really good guys.
I hope they made it back.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
