I've been reading the Atlantic for a long time and I don't recall it ever claiming to be neutral.
It's primarily an opinion journal and most of its contributors, since its inception, have leaned toward progressive intellectual views.
Ironically, most its readers were repubs its early abolitionist days.
That was before the party of Lincoln became the party of Strom Thurmond.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
