>>I didn't watch the debate but the reporting seems to favour Biden slightly ahead of Trump. Thats based on trying to filter bias.

Bearing in mind that media had Clinton over 90% certain to beat Trump, for Biden to be"slightly ahead" presumamably means Trump by a landslide.

I'd be interested to know % support for either candidate among Black and Hispanic citizenry who are said to be staunchly Democrat. Such distinctions may be artificial since communities aren't monolithic and find common ground on more than skin color or voting habit. For example, Hispanics are overwhelmingly Catholic and may consider religious issues just as important as presumed focus on ethnicity, especially if they personally experience religious as well as racist bias. Issues like abortion and reaction to Catholic candidates for the judicial bench, the most recent of whom is mom to 7 kids including 2 Haitian adoptees and who was nominated by Trump and staunchly supported by Republicans against the Left, Hollywood and most media, may be more determinative than historic voting norms. I tell my US colleagues all the time that all the elitist incivility and extremism becoming normalized in privileged circles is a bit like Nero fiddling as Rome burns; the antisocial player/s may be convinced their music is noble and sounds wonderful, but the city dwellers may not want to burn so may come up with other solutions apart from applauding the orchestra. Some would say that's why Trump got elected and will be again.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
