One of the mistakes some VFP proponents seem to make is this; they are not comparing VFP to some other development tool. They are comparing VFP + FIC + WestWind + my Zip library tool + StoneField Database Toolkit + my compression library + my encryption library + my charting ActiveX + my Excel creation tool + my PDF ActiveX + my OCR tool + my Report Writer tool + my FTP/IP comms. library + + + + … (which is all built into a product like WinDev already). So you are not comparing VFP to some other development tool; you are comparing VFP plus all the many other 3rd party tools you have had to buy, learn, master, and manage (plus all the workarounds and tricks and kludges) to some other development tool. And even then the WinDev suite of tools comes out on top!
