We have a client running a VFP6 application on a Small Business Server network with Windows 95 workstations. One of the workstations uses an HP6P printer connected locally. The application has been running fine until that workstation was recently replaced with a new machine. Now, all reports from Visual try to go to the manual feed of the printer rather than the appropriate tray which actually has paper loaded.

We have replaced drivers, etc. In fact, the old machine that was working properly was actually using a 5P driver so we have tried both 5P and 6P drivers on the the new workstation with the same result. Printer test pages and other Windows applications work fine with the new machine. All other workstations on the network are ok, including one that actually shares the same printer with the new workstation.

If I put a 'prompt' clause in a report form command, the printer properties always show the manual feed selected. If I choose the appropriate tray at this point, the report prints fine, but the setting always reverts back to the manual tray the next time around. This is true regardless of the printer properties set in control panel. Having users go thru the printer selection/property setting process for every report is, of course, not a viable option.

Has anyone run across anything similar to this? This particular machine is running W95 Build C. Could we just have something going on with this particular Windows 95 install?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
