Hi,

I started to RIP CDs into MP3 files using Windows Media Player. I created a folder on my PC, D:\Music and RIP CDs (I only did a couple for testing) into this folder. So far, this works on my PC.
The question is, when I migrate to another PC I will XCOPY all files from the folder D:\Music to the folder of the same name and the same location. But the WMP on the other computer won't "know" where the MP3 files are.

My understanding is that WMP uses some kind of a metadata file(s) that indicate where the MP3s are.

Do you know the name of this metadata file and where it is located? So that I can test migrating to another PC.

TIA
