I have had very good experience with Lenovo laptops. I have a Z50 with 8G memory and two hard drives (the second is in my DVD drive bay) and it has been very reliable. Bought my daughter one also and she has had no problems. I just recently bought another Lenovo for my wife.

I previously had a ASUS laptop that worked great for a number of years. But then the battery would suddenly go dead when it showed about 75% used. Plug it in and the battery showed 0%. I tried to replace the battery with a new one and it too started the same behavior after about a month. Googled for other experiences and found a lot of others experiencing the same issues. My wife's laptop that was replaced was also a ASUS and the connector at the laptop for the charger began to not work where she could no longer reliably recharge the battery.

My two cents...
