>>Any direction on how to code that into the installation files?
Game hackers have come up with techniques involving "bcdedit" or "volumeid" that take a few seconds to alter a PC's drive name or volume id to spoof protection based on it. Bcdedit comes with Windows and volumeid is a free download from microsoft.com. Even the hardware serial id (usually printed on the disk label) can be spoofed, e.g. by PB Downforce or Chameleon.
If starting this in 2020, your best bet may involve the "4K-hash" that Microsoft came up with to be unique per Windows machine.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
