Yikes. I've been buying Samsung SSD for a while now; generally very pleased with performance and they're reviewed so often I don't think they could afford to be sneaky on parts. I did see in your citation that the Samsung 970 consumer ssd is only middle of the pack for energy use... though differences in SSD efficiency are likely measured in pennies.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
