Thanks for the information you provided:-) I was a bit appalled to hear that "Installshield Express" was still standard practice for VFP9 deployment since I remember using it in ancient times... But I reallt appreciate that you feedback your current "deployment chain" in detail.

Glad to hear Installshield professional is still maintained and worth the money! In these days a lot, windows developers' support is reducing and this is pleasant news.

A lot of the the comments, including pretty simple ones, made on this thread make sense. I'll try to keep them in mind. Improving the cosmetic of the operation (including the associated bitmaps!) will be on my to-do list. Keeping the process as simple as possible (ie avoid the black-box syndrom for our users whatever their level) as well.

As far as I am concerned, the deployment needs are limited but I am looking for a way to improve the user-experience. And the tool that I used a couple of years ago (not decades ago like Installshield!), installforge, will do the job for the moment. I'll investigage Installshielp pro, innosetup and possibly Caphyon advancedinstaller possibly later, après les fêtes !
