I think it's best to leave ColumnCount = -1 in grid classes, and only set it to a value for each specific grid.

If you have set field mapping when you drag a table/view onto a form your classes will be automatically used.

You can use a grid builder to go through and remove the default textboxes and insert your own at design time, or have the column use RemoveObject() and AddObject() at runtime to rebuild itself with the classes you want.

Only problem is that we have the ColumnCount set to -1 at default in our grid item. When we use a grid in one of our forms we use our own grid. Then we set the ColumnCount to the number we want (3 for instance) and then the correct columns are shown. Except that then the textbox of VFP is used and not ours. I guess we should create a grid with 20 columns and use our textboxes items in there? And when we want fewer columns we just set the column count to the one we want. This way we still have our textboxes?
