Well, don't know about "Real Programers" but one thing for sure is that each application should be in a project for at least 4 years now and build with forms.
Using the built in tools will always make your migration path from version to version smootly.
Migration is almost a no go. From prior versions to Visual FoxPro 5, most of the people are rewritting to benefit of all the OOP features and other things.
