That is correct, WHEN->GOTFOCUS->VALID->LOSTFOCUS, but what Michelle was saying is that WHEN appears to be firing when a change is occuring aswell (I have not tested it, and hence my previous message to her).

What I am looking for is a general method that will fire in a combo box when anything changes, or the users has picked something, whether it be the same element as previously selected, or a new selection. AND I would like this method to fire WITHOUT having to LEAVE (lostfocus / valid) the control.

I do not think anything exists!! UNLESS in VFP6.0 I use the access methods for the VALUE property of the control??

>When fires before a control gets the focus. It's therefore possible for the item never to receive focus if the function returns false. GotFocus fires when the control gets the focus (after When). Valid fires after the the user has clicked off the control, pressed enter or tab, but before the control loses focus. It's therefore possible to prevent a control from losing focus in Valid. LostFocus fires when focus has left the control.
