>I atrribute it more to "do-gooders-at-all-cost" and "morality-above-all" type of thinking/arguing, but there clearly is overlap in all three (@Tamar: while I poked at your post, I group you among the ones trying to post from rational POV and probably better than myself in admitting misuse/error if it happened...)

Thomas, I have tremendous respect for your opinion and insights. More than you know.

However, I see it differently. That "do-gooders-at-all-cost" has slowly come to backfire on the elitist political left. It has come across to middle and lower-middle income blacks (and some whites) as tantamount to, "We elitists know what's good for you". There are many many reasons why a considerable chunk of the black community has been hesitant to get the COVID vaccine. The political left is only interested in the reasons that are tied to Republican actions - they refuse to own their part of this.

I have long since abandoned the benefit of the doubt for the "do gooders at all cost". Here's one of a million reasons why...

Here in Pennsylvania, our governor made a bad (and flawed) decision to shut down certain operations between Thanksgiving and Jan 3, with very little advanced warning. Many of the shutdowns were without merit and had no good data to support it. Many small business owners were understandably very unhappy. They had planned for 15-20% capacity in December and all of a sudden had the rug pulled out.

I know many "do-gooders" who MOCKED and MOCKED these small business people, saying, "We gotta march! We gotta have our liberty, just Trump promised us". And yes these do-gooders are the FIRST to protest any affronts on electoral democracy (e.g. Trump people trying to subvert the process).

So again, I respect you highly. But I don't respect do-gooders. They are hypocrites and full of crap. I am about one thing, the cold hard truth.
