*shrug* I guess it depends on your expectations. The column editing feature in Notepad++ works within a "rectangle" of text -- as such it's not suitable for editing CSV and TAB-delimited files (unless all the columns are of same format and exactly the same width).
- column editing may not work satisfactorily when you're not using a monospace font.
- column editing goes wonky if you're using TABs
- Syntax highlighting could cause wonkiness (especially when you've got settings that might change font or attribute that affect character widths) with column editing
(of course these things shouldn't be surprising (imho)
