>>Another troubling thing is who this DeSantis idiot listens too -- which is quacks & deniers ... I encourage you to look into that -- you'll be horrified.

>Victor, candidly, I'm amazed at some of your comments.

>Hawaii and Florida have completely different population densities, different state dynamics, etc.

>Don't know if you're aware of this, but some people have a separate set of analytics for the "lower 48 states", because of this.
>
>I have looked at case and death rates per square mile, factored in population per square mile....there is no compelling argument that Florida handled this any worse (nor any better) than any other state.
>
>Any by the way, the South Dakota governor (Kristi Noem) made some rather ridiculous statements about her state as well. She made several comments a few weeks back about how SD was doing so much better than Democratic-run states. The truth is that when you adjust per capita and per population density, there's no argument that her state has done remarkably better.
>
>There is an argument to be made that lockdowns, which impacted the state's financial picture, did not make the state's COVID stats better than states that weren't as strict. That is a separate argument.
>
>I have seen a ton of stupid sh** come out of the mouths of both the far left and far right on this topic.
>
>Now...I can make "some" numeric arguments that the following states....Washington, Kansas, Wyoming, Utah, Wisconsin, Oregon, Maine, Nebraska, and Oklahoma....have had "less" (relative) impact than New Jersey, New York, Mass, Rhode Island, PA, CT, Michigan, and Texas. Based on some "blind resume" tests of statistics. But even those have tons of asterisks beside them.
>
>(For the latter of the two lists, one can make an argument that many of the deaths were early in the process, when treatments were far less effective)
>
>Now...someone might say, "why isn't california in that list of "best" or "worst"?"
>Well, it depends on what you mean by California. Los Angeles county has been absolutely devastated. the Northern and even North central part of the state...a different story
>
>Bottom line, people who let political affiliations creep into their thought processes, have shown zero credibility when talking about this topic.

Florida — 9,239 per 100,000
Hawaii — 2,003 per 100,000

Explain how those numbers indicate Florida is doing just as well as Hawaii.

The governor has been getting advice in recent months from Scott Atlas of all people -- explain how this is not incredibly stupid and irresponsible.

DeSantis has decided that money is more important that people's lives -- aka dirtbag with blood on his hands & it has nothing to do with what party he is in -- although clearly the GOP itself has become the we-don't-believe-in-science-party.
