>hey anyone know how to associate a PRG with VFP to EDIT rather than run? I have tried with no success to look for command line params and I changed the dde message to edit... But, alas, still no go at this station.

I created a registry key Visual.FoxPro.Program.5\shell\edit\command, with the a registry value to run my normal choice of text editor (vedit) with the command line c:\Vedit\Vplus "%1". If you wanted to fire VFP's native editor, and you could find the DDE command, you could mimic the structure of the Visual.FoxPro.Program.5\shell\open registry key hierarchy, with the only change probably being the default value of the ddeexec subkey.
