>>Well, now this is an inconvenient chart ...
Brace yourself for the excess mortality trends... many first world nations have shown an annual increase in deaths/1000 since at least 2010 as the population ages, but saw a *decrease* in this trend over the COVID era. Including the US with its "worst COVID response in the world" (sic) and even bolstered by NY's off the charts numbers, there's a *decrease* in the annual increase for 2020. This confirms the FUD danger of only ever publishing C19 deaths rather than the difference it's made to society.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
