OK,, I see what you mean, though I was also a bit puzzled by Mike's simple test with VFP 6 that didn't work, if I understood one of his recent messages correctly.

Maybe here's a question.....could it be that VFP 6 works when SQL Server is merely doing a RAISERROR (without a TRY...CATCH), but if SQL Server is doing a TRY...CATCH and then a RAISERROR, that VFP 6 would have trouble?)

Again, just a question. If I had VFP 6 available, I'd give it a test because now I'm curious. Then again, running VFP 6 will just remind me of the days before my hair turned grey and white. :(
