I am working on the approach of reconnecting to the SQL Server when the connection is lost due to being idle (the approach shared by Walter Meester).
My SQL Server is on the same PC where I do the development. And I have never had - on this PC - a problem where the connection would be lost due to being idle. Maybe because I am on the computer 24/7 :)
I am using SQLSTRINGCONNECT(cConnString) to connect to the SQL Server. Is there a way to set up a time out so that if the application is idle for, say 5 minutes, the connection is lost?
