A few facts about the school reopening in Florida:
From
https://feaweb.org/covid19/fea-safe-schools-report/ (teachers union website updated 10 May 2021):
10 Florida school-age children (K-12) who have died from Covid-19. (source)
43 Florida active educators who have died from Covid-19 since Commissioner Corcoran’s July 6 Reopening Order.
My comments: 10 out of population of about 3.5 million (.29/100,000)
Look here to make your own comparison :
http://www.flhealthcharts.com/ChartsReports/rdPage.aspx?rdReport=MortalityAtlas.Dashboard_MortalityAtlas1&rdRequestForwarding=Form 11 of the 43 died after the order but before the schools reopened for a rate of 11 per month ( July 6 - Aug 10). After the opening 32 died in the next 9 months (Aug 10- May 10) a rate of 4 per month. (the 43 includes teachers, admin, bus drivers, custodians - basically anyone who has any contact with a school.
And you want me to believe that keeping the schools closed is/was a good idea based on "the science"?
