>>>Times are something a German constantly get wrong. We do not use past tense, present perfect and past in there sense. We distinct by context rather then grammar, and do have nothing similar to the more tricky kinds of past like past perfect progressive. Sorry for the confusion.

it is amusing how DOS 2.x came with a number of features "inspired" by Xenix (e.g. subdirectories, file redirection, file handles, etc.). One amusing bit was the int 21h interface even had a call you can make to change the switch character from "/" to something like "-" that makes the command shell act more *nix-like (when you did this you could use forward slashes as directory separator character on the command line). Within the int 21h API you could use both forward and back slash as directory separator. Also each "module" was configured to have a common interface by which version/revision information could be retrieved. The main program would use this within the "about" screen/report to allow for for diagonstic and maintenace purpose.
