Koen Piller has passed away. Today I received this message by regular mail.
He had, since a couple of years, cancer. He is from 1945.
He lived very very nearby and occasionally we visited each other. Also, although he retired 10 years ago, he continued to write code in vfp as a hobby.
There was an extra personal connection, because both our roots are from Jewish Amsterdam. Although in-familiar connections were not found, both our grandparents will have known each other quite well, living in the same Jewish Amsterdam quarter.
He was a really nice guy. I'll gonna miss him around.
That is really sad to hear. He was a devoted man. One that who is generous to learn things (by sharing, criticizing, and able to accept things politely when being corrected.) He will be missed. /A
