Tried to steer Mike a bit that way with tiny subdued irony, which was ok in communication 20 years ago - did not work, so I refrained from blowing up threads even more. Debated myself if private msg might help - interesting paradoxon: no way to claim taoist "wu wei" as guiding principle, but all actions might have better chance at worsening the matter at hand. So I still did nothing.

>In a sense, it would have been been better for them if they had broken a leg - they would have seen it, accepted it and proceeded to have it fixed.

I sometimes wonder if a not-too-shabby percentage might be better off following ages old military standard practice of giving grunts no-brain discipline, fixed routines to follow between moments best avoided and less time for own mind to wander (or wonder). Altering chemical balances via medicine often is tried too soon for my taste - but that is mostly unchecked personal opinion.

While clearly cracks are gained in the field, cracking often happens later when "stoopid" military routines are not giving minimal structure to everyday life.

still uncertain if or when to contact
