Thanks for your effort, but yes, it turned out to be something both simple and stupid (on my part). One would think that .Net would fire off the form Init and then move to the Start proc. Nope, gotta tell it to do so and I hadn't.
Mayhaps I should do a console app more often than once every three or so years.
