Now, I come from a time when whatever I did always found its way back to my parents -- because everyone knew everyone because everyone had lived together for their entire adult lives. The immediacy of feedback can be life-changing. :)
We, our country and others, did not realize the civilizing effect of having people live together throughout their lives, over generations.
