>>Dude, this is the current G7 meeting in Cornwall. That's Slo-Jo Biden and "Dr" Jill talking to the queen (original pic). It's all a BS charade. But thank goodness our voting put the right people in charge of us "not-important" people.

>Thanks. OK, you know that I am not a fan of Biden and can't stand hypocrisy from the ruling class - but that story would probably have had a little more bang if it had been months ago.

>At least here in Southeast PA (and I live just 10 miles west of Philly), if you walk around a shopping mall, a grocery store, a restaurant, a bowling alley, a baseball game - the general feeling is that things are getting very close to what they were before COVID started. Yes, some are still wearing masks, but then again, I remember being in NYC a year before COVID and saw an increasing # of people wearing masks (presumably for general health concerns, horrible allergies, etc.). Yes, some restaurants are seating at maybe 2/3rds or 3/4ths capacity. (And yes, we have the labor shortage issue, that's a different story). So when I see Biden and others (whom I'm sure are fully vaccinated) hobnobbing with others today, I don't get all that worked up, since that's the general feel for much of the country right now. Now, I didn't want all the videos, so maybe you'll tell me that I'm full of it and I missed something, but if they are simultaneously messaging to people that they should wear masks and do elbow bumps EVEN AFTER BEING VACCINATED, then I would agree with you.

>And believe me, I get the hypocrisy of certain Democratic governors in the U.S. who preach restrictions and masks and then go off and do the opposite.
>
>I am tired of Biden and it's only been six months, but truthfully, I'd rather see him shaking hands without a mask with other fully vaxxed people (as a show of confidence for vaccines), versus him showing up on a Zoom call wearing a mask.

>Again, maybe I'm reading this differently.

>Right now, I'm increasingly optimistic that the U.S. is winning the battle on this. It's been over 3 weeks since Memorial day activities in this country, and the numbers continue to drop.

My post was not about Biden or any other politician in particular - I pointed him out only as proof of the recency of the photo as you asked. Politicians are all the same in the one-party-two-party state. Generally they are simply front-men for corporatism.

My point is that in many countries, for example Europe, UK, Spain, France, etc. and elsewhere such as South Africa masks are still required, social distancing still required, etc. And my point was that when they do the photo shoot they wear the masks and do the asinine elbow stupidity with extra awkwardness but when they do the 5-star social scene on our dime they all do as they please. It's all rank hypocrisy from the ruling class, as you put it.

And, PS. things are never going back to normal. New variants, new vaccines, booster shots, vaccine passports, PCR testing, Covid tracking apps, lock-downs, etc. ... it's all going to carry on for years. The money is too enormous to give up: "Pfizer Reaps Hundreds of Millions in Profits From Covid Vaccine. The company said its vaccine generated $3.5 billion in revenue in the first three months of this year." - Source: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/04/business/pfizer-covid-vaccine-profits.html .... We are never going back to Jan 2020.
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends - Martin Luther King, Jr.
