>>"The Biden administration is telling Facebook which posts it regards as "problematic" so that Facebook can remove them. This is the union of corporate and state power -- one of the classic hallmarks of fascism -- that the people who spent 5 years babbling about fascism support." - Glenn Greenwald @ggreenwald - Jul 15 - Twitter

>If the WH is actually doing this, it's a prima facie First Amendment violation. It's Facebook's responsibility to moderate its content (if it chooses to do so). Being forced to do so by the state is another matter. Back-channel "moral suasion" is arguably more dangerous than open regulation.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Actually, the First Amendment limits Congress, not the executive, but that's nitpicking.
I agree that the government, unless we are war, should keep its nose out of what people say to each other.

It intrigues me, however, that to many Facebook has come to be considered "the press."
I've been able to see some of the best living painters in action on Facebook and that has made it valuable to me.
However, I can't imagine anyone using Facebook as a source of medical information
Apparently, there are many who do, but lots of people watch Fox News, so that should not be a surprise.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
