>I have no problem with them reaping profits for having found a way to damp Covid issues by an order of magnitude at least (based on Wuhan or probably Italy/Europe based strain prevalent until early this year - aka before alpha).

I have no problem with a company making a fair profit if they did the research and all is on the level.

However, these are not vaccines in the usual way we commonly use that word; they are not sterilizing vaccines. You are not immune to covid after taking it. It is not like the smallpox vaccine which once immunized you cannot get it. Not only are you not immune to covid you can still even spread it. The claim for the vaccines is that they reduce the severity of the infection and this reduces risk of hospitalization and death. The question then becomes by how much they reduce this risk. The claim is 90% or something like that. But how is that calculated? It is calculated as a relative risk reduction between a vaccinated group and a control group. The absolute risk reduction is only around 1% +/-. The below is interesting:

From the UK The Telegraph - "Covid outbreak aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth strikes down 100 sailors" - https://tinyurl.com/yel9ywps

The ship has a complement of 679.
Vast majority young and fit, healthy.
They have all been 2-injection vaccinated.
They now have 100 infections.
Infection rate = +/-15%

From Wikipedia - COVID-19 pandemic on Diamond Princess - https://tinyurl.com/47dxthtu

The Diamond Princess cruise ship - staff + guests = 3711.
Many older guests and retirees as that is one of the main target markets for cruise ships.
No one was vaccinated, none.
They had 712 infections.
Infection rate = +/-19%
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends - Martin Luther King, Jr.
