>>I suggest that Joe Biden's biggest problem is that he lives in a time where factual argument and character assassination (ad hominem) are considered equally valid forms of argument.
Something that no previous POTUS ever had to face? ;-)
FWIW, NZ remains in highest level of lockdown with some politicians and celebrity scientists convinced that C19 elimination remains the only desirable outcome. After dust settles, I'm going to recommend strongly that you need clinicians not just scientists should future pandemics arise; otherwise you risk "the operation was a success but the patient died" scenarios. Perhaps the same is true in military matters, with "dirt under fingernails" sometimes a better indicator of insight than political persuasion or proximity to beltway cliques.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
