>>Bill,
>>71 years ago today on 15 September 1950 American troops started the landing at Inchon, Korea. I'll bet that if you took a poll of South Koreans you would have almost 100% agreement by the Korean people that they are glad that guys from NJ and FL and 46 other states and the UK , France and Canada showed up when they needed help.

>Don't forget Colombia and Turkey, especially the Turks. They had a lot of causalities but they killed an awful lot of Chinese.
>I think that the Aussies were there too, but I'm not sure.
>
>Yes, they certainly are grateful.
>
>I've stopped telling Korean-American golf partners that I was there.
>They bow, rake the traps for me and take my ball out of the cup.
>It got embarrassing so I stopped saying it.
>
>The resilience of the Korean people is impressive.
>I was in Seoul after the Chinese had been pushed back. You could almost see from one end of the city to the other. Just a few buildings were standing.
>The pictures I see of Seoul now dazzle me.
>
>You could probably make the case that Korea was the last war we've fought that had any justification.
>It was controversial here because we weren't being threatened and a lot of guys had just come back from WWII and had had enough.
>There are some good arguments against the war, but on balance, I've come to think that Truman was right to go in.

Like the WWIi vets Korean vets are getting long in the tooth and slow in the head.
This guy was drafted but never saw combat.
He lucked out and some of us didn't but I think that I'd have been happy to have him next to me.
This guy is 91 and is not quitting.
