>Bill, since you mentioned the VA it reminded me of one of my biggest beefs with Fauchi. I saw him on TV a week or so say that they had not studied the protection from natural immunity. Well, 30 years ago I worked for a few months at the Department of Defense (DOD) Health Services Command Headquarters in San Antonio, TX. My job was answering queries from the Office of the Surgeon General. At that ancient time I would query data located in Ft. Detrick, MD - hard wire connection, using SAS, on FOCUS flat files. I had to call Ft Detrick and get them to physically charge the disk pack when I needed data that exceeded 5 GB. As for the data, I had access to all the medical records for any treatment paid for by the DOD - VA, Active Duty, Reserves, Retired and all dependents including those treated by civilian doctors and hospitals. If you wanted to know how many broken left arms there were by age by year and status I could dig it out. My point is that with the technology and data available today it shouldn't be very hard to find out and separate those with natural immunity with and without vaccinations, boosters and any other combination. It might not be a "peer reviewed" study but I believe that sometimes a preponderance of evidence or lack thereof would answer a lot of questions.

I suspect your "beef" with Fauci is founded on a wildly exaggerated idea of what Fauci's job is.

And I think this anecdote is apocryphal. I can't find any reference at all to Fauci saying anything like that.

I did find this: https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20211207/omicron-evade-immunity
Which is saying that (as of the beginning of December) they are actively studying whether natural immunity protects against Omicron.

A quick google found this published a week later and it looks like natural immunity to prior strains doesn't protect against Omicron.

Though my understanding is that a prior infection or 2-dose vaccination will reduce the severity of symptoms, which is really good news.
