He impressed me in pre-Corona times with his willingness to play along with formats like "heute show" (something like very tame SNL, part of which is asking loaded, stupid or senseless questions in front of a camera, trying for gaffe from politicians, company heads or similar) in full knowledge that they were trying for laughs only. He certainly has lots of "Rampensau" genes and likes the spotlight, but that took guts as he was not given special or lighter treatment AFAIK.
I certainly realize this was planned like his then-always bow tie to form a recognizable TV persona - still hats off for going in and sometimes coming out with foot in mouth.
