I post this in the client/server section because someone wants to have the file maint (pack/index) operations remain on the server. This implies the use of a VFP automation server to handle these tasks. Other processes, those that are causing problems with a Banyan Vines network, might also be considered.

Has anyone done this with a VFP database? Is it even worthwhile to consider? The network is slow. 2MB NICs I believe. Even if 100 MB NICs are purchased with some of the newer PCs planning on being purchased, the wiring in the building is not slated to be upgraded.
