I suggest to NOT use functions from procedure files in Index's Key and FOR expressions. Even if the procedure file is already open when the table is open, reopening the procedure may confuse VFP and corruptions may occur. Such function calls should be either standalone program files or as a Stored Procedure so they are visible always.
