Thanks for your replies. I'm using different data files. The indexes seem ok. Have packed and reindexed, browsed etc. haven't deleted the indexes but I guess that is an option. Thing is it works 100% once the user has clicked on the form that first time, all subsequent new records etc are great.

What I've done is installed the program elsewhere on my system and I'm copying the new .exe over to that directory and running it. According the results of a "display status" I'm getting all the right tables being used etc.

This is very puzzling.
