>>Hi,
>>
>>We had a power outage today. Maybe it is a coincidental, maybe not, but now when I turn on my notebook, and hover the mouse over the battery, it says "8% available. plugged in, not charging."
>>I checked that the power cable is connected.
>>I clicked on the battery icon and it shows that the battery health is Excellent.
>>I turned the notebook on and off a couple of times.
>>I took the battery out and put it in.
>>None of the above resolves the issue. If I remember correctly, before this outage, the battery was about 70% charged.
>>
>>What else can I try?

>If it's from a manufacturer such as Dell and you have something like Dell ProSupport you can contact them for assistance. If you don't have warranty support you can often start a thread on the maker's support forum.
My notebook is Dell. Windows 7. No warranty support. But I will go through all the items in the article.
Thank you.
