>I had similar issue last year with my Dell. I bought a new battery and problem persisted. Finally I took to the repair shop and they told me I had a bad charger. Got a new charger and problem went away. Goes to show, sometimes it is something simple.

I have tried two chargers and both had the same negative result. I ordered a new battery today. If it works, for $40, I will be happy to forget about this issue.
