>>The laptop is 9 years old. A new battery should be delivered today. I can't wait to test it.

I'd advise some care with batteries for an older PC, especially if from a non-vendor source. I had my favorite old faithful HP notebook destroyed by a battery found on eBay that turned out to be a manufacturer reject because its charge meter always alleges nearly full, even when nearly empty. All appeared fine until one day I used the machine a little too long and drained the battery. Usually the PC would shut down before the battery is completely drained- except this battery was reporting it still had plenty of charge. Anyway, the notebook began to flick off and on rapidly, frying video memory and other components. Hence advice to take some care with older PCs whose batteries would have exited official inventory a long time ago...
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
