FTP and the secure versions all need more programming or (repeated) manual effort.
Flip side makes using such secured! servers less dangerous from unintended consequences.
So far a nice exchange in my book ("open book" pure FTP a no go).
Which "good reasons" have I missed on SFTP or FTPS ?
