it was ironic. You know, the problem with the hammer as only tool known and anything looks like a nail.

MarkDown? I found the best way to learn as usual - to use. I do a lot in my gitlab server and for VFPX on github. The gitlab I use, aside of serving my repos, for ticketing - even my internal stuff. So one learn step by step.
If you like to use in VFP then there is Rick Strahls MarkDownMonster - it covers a lot of stuff. I have no idea of things like maths. diagrams, flowcharts.

Else get a decent editor with a live preview for at least basic MarkDown.
