Control Security can tie enabled to security group, if that's what the customer wants (e.g., Support can't use it, etc.).

Otherwise, I would use the control's "cenabledexpr" -- but that's something we added into the system 20 years ago. We did make all our changes available to ProMatrix to use freely in the product without attribution, so I don't know if they put it in later versions.
