Rather than using STKIT432, which is a very incomplete implementation of the IShellLink API, I'd try using George Tasker's Shortcut Link Files DLL here on UT (the code samples are in VFP, but it should be usable in VB without much trouble) or if WSH is available, use the Wscript.Shell automation object's ShortCut methods to manage shortcuts. Both provide much better (read: more complete) access to the API; the Wscript implementation is more flexible IMO (sorry, George...)
